Onondaga Nation School announces new principal
Post-Standard
July 16, 2008

Diane Ellsworth has been named principal of the Onondaga Nation School.

Ellsworth, who starts her job Aug. 11, has been an elementary principal in the Canisteo-Greenwood Central School District near Hornell for the past three years. Before that, she was assistant principal at Gowanda Middle-High School for three years, and has 17 years teaching experience.

She grew up in Cortland, and graduated from State University College at Brockport.

The Onondaga Nation School is one of three Native American schools in the state. The state Education Department contracts with the LaFayette district to operate the school, which covers kindergarten through eighth grade.

Ellsworth replaces Carol Erb, who retired after 11 years as the school's principal.
