
The Upstate Lacrosse Foundation has announced the 2025 Hall of Fame Class. This year’s class includes Freeman Bucktooth and Mark Burnam.
Freeman Bucktooth grew up playing on the Onondaga Nation. He earned All-League recognition as a strong attackman at LaFayette High School. He excelled for the Onondaga men’s box lacrosse team helping win many league NALA titles. Bucktooth was also instrumental in the creation of the Onondaga Minor Lacrosse Association where he coached many youth divisions creating a strong foundation of youth lacrosse that exsists today. Bucktooth went on to coach at LaFayette High School and professionally for the Syracuse Smash in the NLL.
Mark Burnam won the State High School championship with Henniger HS and a National Championship with Syracuse University. He also played on the 1993 Onondaga Red Hawks championship team. Burnam also played professionally with the NJ Saints, the Buffalo Bandits winning two World Champions in 1992 and 1993, the Rocheste
r Knighthawks, and finally the Syracuse Smash.
Both Bucktooth and Burnam have been instrumental coaches for the Haudenosaunee Nationals.
The remainder of the Upstate Lacrosse Foundation class includes: Joe Alberici, Megan Burnett, Patrick Donahue, Rick Gilbert, Peter Hyde, Rachel Lasda, David Schneid, Kristen Taylor, Nancy Vecchio, the 1985 West Genesee Boys team, and the 2007-08 West Genesee Girls team.
This upcoming fall on Sunday, November, 9, 2025, the inductees will be honored at the Drumlins Country Club at 1pm. Please look for upcoming notifications from the Upstate Lacrosse Foundation to purchase your tickets for the event.
