Aweñheeyoh Powless, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Elmira College ’07, was recently recognized and honored with multiple art awards.
She received First place and Best in Show at the New York State Fair for her oil painting called “Saratoga Dancers”. Then at the Seneca Nation Fall Festival she received second place for another oil painting called “As One”. In addition, Aweñheeyoh received word that another one of her paintings will be featured in the publication, Stone Canoe. She will display that piece called “Cornhusk “, at the Delevan Art Gallery in January.
Aweñheeyoh is preparing for a one woman show during the entire month of November at the University Hospital Library on Crouse Ave. Congratulations Aweñheeyoh!
